New footage shows a physical confrontation between federal forces and Alex Pratt, who was killed Saturday in a confrontation with US federal agents.
The video was reportedly taken 11 days before his death. A representative for the Pretti family confirmed to CNN that the person in the video is indeed Aleks Pretti.
The video, published by The News Movement, shows Prett shouting at the agents and kicking the taillight of their official vehicle as they drive away.
The officers then stopped the vehicle, got out, and tackled Pretti to the ground. The entire incident, which took place in Minneapolis, lasted only a few seconds, after which Pretti got back up.
In the video, Pretti appears to be holding a gun, but it’s not clear whether the federal agents noticed. They don’t disarm him, but simply retreat from the scene. It’s also not known what happened immediately before or after the moments captured in the video.
The video was shot at a location less than two miles from where Pretti was shot dead in a shootout with federal agents last Saturday.
The video shows Prett wearing a brown hat, brown jacket, light-sleeved shirt and light-colored pants – clothing very similar to the one he was wearing the day he was killed.
Another video shows the same incident from a different angle. It shows officers exiting the vehicle, confronting 37-year-old Pretit and wrestling him to the ground in front of screaming witnesses.
Car sirens can be heard in the background. Pretti is finally freed, after which the agents emit a kind of smoke and leave the scene. A passerby asks Pretti how he is feeling and he replies that he is fine
