Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that the peace dialogue process between Ukraine and Russia is expected to continue soon, while the next round of talks could take place in the United States.
In a message published on the Telegram platform, Zelensky announced that the Ukrainian negotiating team had completed two days of intensive meetings in the United Arab Emirates, where separate talks were held with representatives of the United States and Russia. He stressed that the team is expected to return to Kyiv for a detailed report, as many sensitive issues cannot be addressed through remote communication.
According to him, from preliminary information that may be made public, the parties have agreed that further meetings will be held in the near future, most likely on American territory. Zelensky reiterated that Ukraine remains open to any negotiation format that genuinely contributes to bringing peace closer and that creates solid foundations for a sustainable and long-term solution to the conflict.
He underlined that Kiev’s main goal is to end the war in a way that does not legitimize or reward Russian aggression, calling this principle essential for restoring true security in the region and beyond. The Ukrainian president also thanked international partners for their continued political and diplomatic support for Ukraine.
The latest meetings took place on Wednesday and Thursday in Abu Dhabi, where delegations from Russia, Ukraine and the United States participated in a two-day round of discussions on resolving the conflict. As a result of these talks, the parties agreed to carry out an exchange of prisoners of war, the first in five months, which was implemented immediately after the meetings concluded.
In a joint statement, the participants described the discussions as constructive and focused on identifying ways to create the necessary conditions towards achieving a lasting peace between the conflicting parties. /
